Old countries
A comprehensive online resource offering interactive visualisations and in-depth analysis of global demographic and economic data.
i. Selecting the Country object
Once you have travelled to the home page of the Scopacasa Assistant, click on the
Object Selectionselect-box (highlighted in the red box in the screenshot below). Once the available items appear, click on theCountriesoption.

ii. Search for a Country to view
Once you have selected the
Countryobject in the sidebar, theItem Searchbar will appear at the top of the page. TheAssistantofScopacasa Platformwill ask you to search for and select aCountryrecord.

iii. Viewing the record's profile
Once you have selected a
Countryrecord from theItem Searchbar, some basic details about the country’s profile will appear. TheAssistantwill also attempt to provide a short summary of the information.

In the screenshot above, we have selected and are viewing information for the country
Australia.
iv. Searching for an Economic Data Item
Below the country’s
Profilesection is an analysis tool to viewEconomic Datafor the selectedCountry. To select an item to view, search for and select a field in theItem Searchbar below theEconomic Dataheading.

v. Viewing the data in a table
In the screenshot below, we have selected and are viewing data for the item
Gross Domestic Product.

The left side of the
Economic Datacontainer contains a table with three columns:
Year: The year the data in its respective row is representative of.
Value: The value of theEconomic Dataitem selected for theYearmentioned in that row.
Percentage Change: The percentage change in the item's value from the previous year to the current year. Negative values will have a red background, while positive values have a green background.The earliest year where this data is recorded will be at the bottom of the table, while the latest year’s data will be at the top of the table.
vi. Viewing a summary of the data
To the right of the table is a
Summarysection. This will contain a sub-section for themaximum,minimumandaveragevalues in the table. The year of those values will be displayed alongside them.The sub-section below will contain the
minimum,maximumandaveragePercentage Changevalues, highlighting the smallest, largest, as well as the average change of the selectedEconomic Dataitem between years.
Please note that if a value appears more than once in the table, only the latest year where that value was recorded will be stated in the Summary section.
vii. Viewing the data in a graph
Below the
TableandSummarysection, the same data will be displayed inGraphform.

The
y-axisis representative of theValuebeing measured, while thex-axisis representative of theYearwhen that value was recorded.Hovering over a specific period will trigger a tooltip to appear, where the period’s
YearandValuewill be displayed.
viii. Viewing the reference list
The last section of the page contains a
Reference List, displaying any sources used to compile information for the relevant analytics tool.

The screenshot above is of the
Reference Listfor theCountriesobject. We can see that Databank - The World Bank was used to compile information for this analytics tool.
